About the Owner

My name is Chad Hyvonen, owner of Lint Cleaner and a retired professional firefighter.

I began my career as a Firefighter/Paramedic serving communities throughout Metro Detroit. Eventually, I was hired by my hometown fire department in St. Clair Shores, where I spent the next 25 years serving the community and retired in 2025 as a Battalion Chief.

Throughout my career, my mission was simple: help people when they needed it most. Whether responding to medical emergencies, house fires, or situations where someone simply had nowhere else to turn, serving others was always at the heart of the job. Beyond emergency response, we worked to educate residents about fire safety and ways to reduce risks in their homes. One of the most overlooked hazards we encountered was improper maintenance of dryer vent systems.

Toward the end of my fire service career, I was given the opportunity by my neighbor and the former owner of Lint Cleaner to learn the specialized trade of dryer vent cleaning, inspection, and maintenance. With more than 20 years of experience in the industry, he passed along invaluable knowledge and expertise. After retiring from the fire department, I purchased the business and have continued building upon that foundation. Since then, we have expanded our services to include additional home safety options, such as smoke detector battery replacement and safety inspections.

Lint Cleaner also holds third-party certification as a Dryer Exhaust Vent Technician (DEVT) through the Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA), demonstrating our commitment to industry standards and continuing education.

We focus exclusively on dryer vent cleaning, maintenance, repair, and installation, ensuring every system is serviced properly and in accordance with current building standards.
